Kevin Morris

I am Kevin Morris. I am a Toronto-based consultant and researcher currently working with a select number of companies & projects in what might be considered 'traditional' industries (think: construction). For various reasons, many of these industries have failed to adopt the standards, practices and models required to remain competitive in a new economy.

However, I believe that the recent drop in transaction costs and the restructuring of our global economic system have converged to provide an incredible opportunity for those willing to embrace openness, collaboration and positive change.

My interests lie in how social structures affect innovation. I have a track record of constructing networks of thought leaders and best-in-class experts in order to increase the exchange of knowledge, creativity and social capital across traditional organization or institutional boundaries. I have done so in North America, Europe and Asia and in industries ranging from construction to professional services.

My efforts to research, document, practice and educate around these concepts are reflected through my work at socialstruct.

I am also an adviser and consultant to an executive coaching firm, where I work with a membership including some of Canada's highest achieving CEOs and Executives. In addition, I am a consulting researcher for the think tank nGenera Insight and a blogger at Wikinomics.com. Recently, I joined the Advisory Panel for the LOKU30, a social network for young leaders and influencers who are the future of their industry.

I tend to play a background role in the initiatives I am involved in and am most satisfied by making connections that can make others successful.

I work out of the Centre for Social Innovation in Toronto, ON:
